Green leafy vegetables are rich in nutrients and fiber and vitamins. Vegetables keep you full and improve your eye health. Spinach, Kale, Lettuce, collard green are all leafy vegetables and easily available.
Spinach contains lutein, beta- carotene, and zeaxanthin. These nutrients have the potential to slow the progression of the age-related muscular degeneration. Actually, lutein acts as sunglasses and help to protect retina in the back of eye from damage.
Kale has consisted of such nutrients that support a healthy retina. They also protect your eyes from blue ultraviolet eyes. All the leafy vegetables have such antioxidants that are helpful in the prevention of eye diseases.
3. Fatty Fish
The health of retina is directly associated with the consumption of omega-3. Fishes like salmon, tuna, sardines etc are rich in omega-3. Omega-3 contribution to the visual development has been proven by the various studies.
With the growing age, mostly people have to face dry eyes as the water of eyes began to reduce. The healthy fats present in the fishes prevent the dry eyes. Moreover, the whitish portion of eyes starts becoming yellow if there is no or lack of consumption of fish. The age related muscular degeneration can also be cured with the consumption of fish.
